Local strongmen have proven their mettle by securing coveted spots in the top 10 rankings of Static Monsters Worldwide in 2023. A push/pull Strongman event hosted internationally as a qualifier for Static Monsters Championships 2024, the last championship was held in London this year.

Static Monsters WorldWide has emerged as a premier event that tests the limits of pure static strength. The competition challenges athletes to duke it out with two classic strongman lifts: the log lift and the axle deadlift in powerlifting attempt fashion. Athletes from around the world participate, showcasing their prowess in these demanding events.

This year we’ve put a dent on the international scene as three athletes have demonstrated not only their raw power but also their dedication to the sport, putting the Philippines on the map in the world of strength competitions once again.

Ramil Javier, the first u70kg athlete to qualify and compete for Static Monsters Championships came back to test his limits and that he did securing a consecutive invite to worlds placing 9th overall with an 85 kg Log and an almost 4x bodyweight axle deadlift with 270kg. We salute you Ram!

One weight class over at the u80 division one of our best masters strongman Egmedio Aricayos came in guns blazing putting up a 44.5 kg total with a 95 kg log and a 350 kg deadlift, the second heaviest deadlift in the worldwide rankings bested only by our own Priest Villanueva. That’s two of the biggest pulls in the world right now.

Our very own from One Strength Media, Priest Villanueva got 115kg in the Log Press and 415 kg deadlift for a 530 kg total a whopping 72.5 kgs higher from the second biggest Monster Total from Mathieu Beauvois (France) and an unofficial world record for the deadlift at that. Here’s to hoping Priest stays healthy and gets a chance to fly in for next year’s championships. Let’s all get behind him and team PH as he sets himself up as the biggest axle deadlifter in the world and they keep striving for excellence.

As the accolades pour in for these Filipino strongmen, the anticipation for their future performances grows. The momentum gained from their success in Static Monsters WorldWide will undoubtedly propel them to new heights, inspiring a new generation of strength athletes in the Philippines.
